Clear thinking and composure under legal pressure.
A clinician-led performance programme for early-career lawyers. Six live sessions build practical skills for regulation, decision-making, communication, and sustainable practice.

What the programme builds.
Legal training builds technical capability. EF|Law builds the psychological capacity that sustains it — three competencies, installed in the order the evidence requires.
Regulate
Recognise pressure states early and restore composure before they drive communication or decisions.
Think clearly
Protect working memory, prioritisation, flexibility, and judgment when workload and urgency compete.
Act deliberately
Build confidence, agency, and sustainable ways of working within the real constraints of legal practice.
Why this matters in legal practice
The conditions of practice — cognitive load, adversarial intensity, time compression, relational demand — place measurable pressure on the nervous system that technical skill alone can't absorb. When load exceeds capacity, attention narrows, reactivity rises, and deliberate choice contracts. This is a predictable neurobiological response, not a personal failing.
The early-career window is the highest-leverage time to build the foundation: the patterns set in the first years of practice shape a whole career.
How Centre → Clarify → Choose works
The Executive Frame™ is a clinician-developed architecture grounded in three evidence bases — emotional intelligence, executive function, and self-determination theory. Together they form the C³ Loop™: three moves held in sequence, each upstream of the next.
Centre — is the system steady enough to think clearly? Clarify — is thinking organised enough to execute well? Choose — is ownership intact enough to act deliberately? Skip Centre and Clarify turns anxious; skip Clarify and Choose turns reactive.
What lawyers can use in the moment
Every module ends with a portable, real-time tool usable the next day: the Capacity Check, the physiological sigh, Now–Do–Later triage, the Decision Map, the Emotional Airlock, and the Email Escalation Protocol — practical procedures for the hostile email, the difficult call, and the 4pm decision you'd never make at 9am.
The role of S.H.I.F.T.™
The S.H.I.F.T.™ Protocol is the programme's real-time reset — a five-step, sub-90-second procedure for working through pressure with composure intact: Slow (interrupt urgency), Hold (stabilise physiology), Focus (one executable next step), Time (delay interpretation), +Plus (repair and integrate). It is installed across the series and portable as a desk card.
What each module covers.
Each module stands alone and compounds across the series. Every one ends with a real-time tool.
